| Posted Feb 1 2010 Overview B Lab (www.bcorporation.net) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create a new sector of the economy that harnesses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. B Lab is building the infrastructure necessary to accelerate the development of social capital markets by promoting B Corporations -- high-impact companies that create benefit for all stakeholders, not just shareholders and by developing social and environmental performance standards for companies and funds. GIIRS (the Global Impact Investing Ratings System) a project of B Lab, will provide impact investors with ratings for the social and environmental impact (but not the financial performance) of companies and funds. GIIRS is expected to become the standard by which institutional and high net worth investors measure the impact of their investments. Position Purpose: Oversee standards development of the emerging markets version of Impact Ratings System, an assessment tool that measures companies' social and environmental performance in the impact areas of accountability, employees, community, environment, and consumers. The Impact Ratings System is used to both certify B Corporations and rate GIIRS companies and funds. Position Functions: Oversee the development of the emerging markets version of the Impact Ratings System for use by B Lab's stakeholder groups: B Corporations, GIIRS rated companies and funds, Investors, Supply Chain Managers, Policy Makers, and other Standards Partners Assemble and manage industry, geographic, and impact area working groups associated with B Lab's standard development process Draft weightings and content recommendations for consideration by B Lab's emerging markets standard advisory council Manage B Lab's relationship with the Impact Reporting and Investment Standards (IRIS) initiative Qualifications: Passion for using business to solve social and environmental problems High energy, self-managing, entrepreneurial personality Strong relationship-building, communications, analytical, and organizational skills Work experience in an international/emerging markets context 7-10 years experience in business, preferably in a role related to international development, investment ratings, and/or ESG performance measurement Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000, plus benefits The job location will be in Raleigh/Durham, NC, Berwyn, PA, or New York, NY. | Posted Feb 1 2010 Job Title Analyst(s), Asia Job Type Full-time Reports to Regional Manager, Asia Location Hyderabad, India Job Description Serve as a microfinance analyst for Asia for a fast paced financial sector non-profit. The qualified candidates will be responsible for contributing to the growth and expansion of MIX's core activities in Asia in support of the organization's goals of achieving reliable, comparable, publicly available information on the performance and outreach of microfinance institutions (MFIs). They will have the analytical and diplomatic skills required to increase the quantity and quality of information (data and analysis) available on MFIs. This position requires dynamic and self-motivated persons with an understanding of financial analysis and accounting. Responsibilities To achieve these goals, the Analyst will have primary responsibility (80% of time) to: ● Manage relations with a portfolio of MFIs in the region; ● Solicit, collect, validate, reclassify, adjust and analyze MFI information; ● Update MFI and other related actor data in MIX database and systems; ● Produce MFI performance reports and periodic reports on regional analysis and research. ● Manage and expand contacts with all relevant regional microfinance actors, with a focus on MFIs; and ● Carry out research to further the MIX's understanding of regional actors and developments affecting MFI performance; The Analyst will have a secondary responsibility (20% of time) to support the other work of the MIX on any number of tasks including to: ● Contribute to shared analyst tools and systems ● Market and promote MIX services to other actors in the industry Working relationships The Analyst will work with a global team of Analysts and Regional Manager with a collective responsibility for industry analysis covering the globe in the performance and outreach of MFIs. The Director of Analysis works with this team on all aspects of the analysis process, in developing strategies for expanding regional outreach and coverage, and in providing standards, tools and capacity building to regional actors. Qualifications ● Bachelors / BComm in economics, finance, accounting/auditing, or relevant field. Masters degree strongly preferred. ● Experience in accounting, audit, or financial analysis. ● Fluency in written and spoken English. Additional regional languages preferred. ● Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and comfort with online databases are essential. ● Familiarity with microfinance or financial services sector preferred. Skills ● Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills ● Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Remuneration Salary commensurate with qualifications and range for the position.
